Naxos 納克索斯島

#納克索斯島位於愛琴海南部的中心地帶，是昔克蘭群島的最大島嶼。

#這座島嶼經常在希臘神話中登場，是“酒與戲劇之神”迪翁尼索斯的出生地。

Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades islands and, definitely, one of the most beautiful Greek islands!

Naxos Chora, the main town of Naxos, is a wonderful mixture of Venetian and traditional Cycladic architecture. Above the Cycladic whitewashed houses of Chora stands the imposing Venetian castle, oozing a medieval charm!

Naxos Greece sits in the center of Cyclades islands group, in the heart of the Aegean sea. It is the biggest and the greenest island of the Cyclades, boasting a magnificent natural landscape!

The Orthodox Cathedral is dedicated to Zoodochos Pigi, which means the life-giving Virgin Mary. It is located in the north side of the capital and was built around 1787. In the interior of the church, fine wall paintings can be admired. Right next to the cathedral, there is the site of Ancient Naxos.

Kastro (Castle) is the most picturesque quarter in Naxos Town. It is actually the part of the old town. Around this castle, the modern part of the town has been constructed.

#在港口旁矗立的古代遺跡波爾塔拉是古希臘人采了大量的大理石，為祭祀阿波羅而建的神殿之門，現在已經成為納克索斯島的地標。

#在納克索斯最北部，還有阿波羅神殿的遺址所在地Apollonas，它位於臨海的山丘之上，有登山通道連接，是全島觀賞愛琴海夕陽的最佳地點和拍照地。

Panagia Filiotissa | Nested in its eastern premises of the village of Filoti is the orthodox church of Panagia (Virgin Mary) Filotissa or Filotitissa; it is known with both names of the same origin, the village’s name.

Filoti is situated on quite a steep hill and the main street is lined by picturesque cafes and restaurants. The surrounded nature is gorgeous with green and mountainside views.

The island’s rich history is reflected in the many archaeological sites that embellish it. The most iconic of them -and the trademark of Naxos- is Portara, the remaining gate of an ancient temple dedicated to the Greek god Apollo.

#在港口小鎮中央的山丘上，還殘留著13至16世紀威尼斯統治時期所建的城堡遺跡，如迷宮般錯綜複雜。

Naxos boasts a beautiful natural landscape, as it is the greenest island of the Cyclades. Imposing mountains, green valleys, beautiful beaches, and rural villages will exalt nature lovers’ spirits!

Temple of Demeter | Recently restored, this ancient temple is dedicated to Demeter, the goddess of grain. It dates back to the 6th century B.C. and it was discovered in 1949. A small church to Saint John stands next to the temple.

Chora, Naxos Town is the capital and main village and harbour of the island. With a lovely waterfront and elegant Venetian architecture, it considered as one of the most beautiful Cycladic villages.
