Plaka is the chief town in Milos, a Greek island in the Cyclades group. It is perched on the top of large rock, overlooking the gulf of Milos. No cars can enter the village because of the narrow spaces between walls and buildings. There are lots of colorful doors and windows in the town, also many nice restaurants.
The Venetian Castle of Milos was built in the 13th century, on the hilltop which now is the Plaka, the capital of the island. Around the castle you will find several churches. The usefulness of the castle at that time was to protect the inhabitants from the pirates who acted uncontrolled across the Mediterranean sea. It is worthwhile to climb up the castle, especially during the evening hours in order to enjoy one of the most unique sunsets in Greece.
Kleftiko is an impressive spot of rock formations that can be reached only by sea. Impressive rocks spring up from the sea, forming natural caves and rare geological phenomena. Kleftiko is also known as The Sea Meteora.
