Agios Pavlos Beach A pebbled beach in the north part of the island 5 km from the port of #Aegiali. The water is crystal clear and it's a perfect diving and snorkeling.

Agios Pavlos is a fishing spot and you will also find there a tavern offering mouthwatering local delicacies.

Agios Pavlos is a beautiful, sandy beach that doesn't get that popular as the other two main beaches of Amorgos, Katapola and Aegiali.

#Chora is considered to be one of the most traditional and picturesque villages of all the Cycladic capitals. The traditional main village of the island of #Amorgos. It was constructed in the 13th century by Venetian lords, as protection against invasions by Saracen pirates. It has large number of domed churches and miniature chapels scattered around the village.

Chora Village Amorgos: This is the medieval capital of Amorgos, situated 400m above sea level. It is an amazing village hidden behind the mountains, dominated by a 13th century Venetian castle, the Kastro.

The rough paved main square, Plateia Loza, is amazing, with its little cafes lying under the shadow of the huge eucalyptus trees located in the middle of the Plateia. Chora has the only post office of the island, a police department and medical centre.

There are no hotels in this calm little town, so the only way to spend the night in this amazing atmosphere is to look for one of the many rooms to let. Chora also has some nice places to eat, with authentic Greek tastes, but also to drink and to enjoy a superb night. From Chora, buses depart for the fabulous Hozoviotissa Monastery.

Th "Chora" of Amorgos, the island’s capital, is one of the most beautiful villages in the Cyclades. It is located in the center of the island, insulated by rocky hills and boasts a scenic setting! Wandering in Chora, you’ll come across traditional whitewashed houses with colorful shutters, narrow alleys, embellished with flowers, an imposing Venetian Castle, beautiful churches and little taverns. 。沈船遺跡的美麗與憂傷。

曾經在法國大導演 #盧貝松的電影The Big Blue出現的這個沈船遺跡，是位於希臘Amorgos島上，靠近 #Kaloraritissa 海灘附近的 #Liverio 淺灣。

根據記載，這艘賽普勒斯籍的船在1980年為了找尋避風港而駛進這個淺灣，因為船錨沒能落在正確的位置，導致船體無法即時停靠因觸礁而擱淺，所幸所有船員都能及時避難並無傷亡。然而這艘船就此報廢，經過40年的風霜歲月洗禮，加上周遭的自然景觀，形成了相當悲壯的景觀。

Amorgos Shipwreck of Olympia

Amazing shipwreck on the isolated beach.

The shipwreck of Olympia is located near Kalotaritisa. It became famous with the movie Big Blue of Luc Besson.

Very close to Kalotaritissa Beach lies the Shipwreck of Amorgos, one of the most melancholic yet beautiful landmarks of the island. It was February of 1980 when the commercial ship “Olympia” reached the coasts of Amorgos and stood permanently there due to strong winds that led it directly on the rocks.

Nowadays, Amorgos Shipwreck is visited by lots of tourists every year that are impressed by its beauty and take pictures of it. Until today, the first name of the ship, which was “Inland”, is still visible despite the deterioration of its exterior. Later on, the vessel was given the name “Olympia.”

The beach along with the iconic shipwreck itself were used as a shooting area for various travel shows and documentaries, such us the movie “Le grand bleu” of Luc Besson in 1988.

Mouros Beach Amorgos: Mouros is a pebbled beach located 15km southeast of Chora. Its main characteristic is the rare turquoise water. This rather small beach is sandy with some rock formations spread around the shore. Behind the rocks, there are two small caves that you can swim and snorkel.

The beach is not organized with umbrellas and sun beds but there is a tavern right above the sea serving cold drinks and snacks. It is easily accessed by car or motorbike that will take you only up to a point, near the cafeteria and then you have to follow a 10-minute walk path to reach the beach. In close distance are the villages of Arkesini and Kamari.

The small chapel of Agia Anna is built on a rock by the sea. It is located in Agia Anna beach and distinguishes for its pure traditional style.

When the night comes, head to the island’s traditional taverns to have shots of homemade “psimeni raki ”, a local alcoholic beverage and taste yummy local delicacies, such as “ladotyri” (local cheese), “kserotigana” (fried pies) and “patatato” (goat with potatoes).

The Venetian Castle on the rock above Chora was built in the Medieval times. Its location is impressive and gives an amazing view to the sea. A few old and interesting churches are preserved within the castle walls.

Surrounded by lovely windmills and full of beautiful Byzantine and early Christian churches, outspread white houses and stone paved little streets, this little wonder reminds of a labyrinth and has an incredible and particular atmosphere.

The most popular site of the island is Panagia Hozoviotissa, an impressive monastery, perched on a rocky cliff above the sea! This 10th-century cliffside monastery boasts a wonderful traditional architecture, while it has a seductive view of the Aegean sea. It’s the perfect spot to watch the sunset from!

The Monastery of Hozoviotissa in Amorgos is the second oldest in Greece built in 1017 and renovated 1088 with a dramatic cliffside location & sweeping views of the Aegean Sea. The Monastery is built on the steepest rock, 300 metres above sea level. A spiritual place built into a rock with a view of paradise. There is a scene in Luc Besson’s film The Big Blue, where the camera films above the sea and leads up to #PanagiaHozoviotissa.

This impressive Monastery was built in the 11th century and it is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is the trademark of Amorgos island. Built entirely on the slopes of a rock, this monastery gives an amazing view to the sea. A trekking path leads to the nice beach of Agia Anna.
